raghav rajeshSUTD computer science and design ’29

i automate the work people still do by hand.

about me

raghav rajesh in a black blazer.

i’m raghav, a year 2 computer science and design undergraduate student at SUTD in singapore.

most of what i build starts with a chore i got stuck doing. as treasurer of the badminton club, i was chasing people for fees and checking their screenshots against a bank statement, so i wrote a telegram bot that does it for me. that is what got me hooked on backend work: the APIs, databases and servers that keep things running when nobody is looking. away from the laptop, i am usually tinkering with a raspberry pi or an ESP32, or waiting on a 3D print.

selected projects

  • clubsync

a web app that runs membership, payments and attendance for 90 SUTD clubs. members pay their club fees over paynow and upload the transfer screenshot. an OCR pipeline reads the amount and reference, checks them against the fee record and catches receipts that were already used. anything it is unsure about goes to a club exco, and only audited server functions can record a payment.

  • wanderbin

an autonomous recycling robot, built over two terms of SUTD’s IDEA module. the ESP32 on board broadcasts its own wifi network and serves a small JSON REST API, so the companion web app talks to the robot directly, with no router and no internet. the lid opens only when the app has approved the item and the ultrasonic sensor sees a hand, and that approval expires as soon as the lid closes.

  • shuttlebuddy

a telegram bot that collects fees for the SUTD badminton club. it sends each member a paynow QR code with a reference unique to them, then checks the receipt screenshot they send back: gemini reads the fields, python checks the amount, reference and timestamp against the fee record, and an SQLite store rejects any receipt that has been used before. it runs around the clock on a raspberry pi 4.
